Club Updates (9/24/2020)
A few updates and information for our club that I would like to pass along.
  • We still have three meetings which will need a program.  If you have an idea of a program or a speaker that you would like to invite, please let me know.  (2nd Wednesday of the month)
  • Rotary focus meetings - Is there a Rotary topic that you would like to learn more about?  Please let me know.  I am working on finding speakers/programs for the Rotary focus meetings (4th Wednesday of the month)
  • Make sure to check out the calendar for our meetings coming up
  • For those that have pledged a donation during a meeting for our 50/50 drawing, please make sure to pay your invoices.  You should have received an invoice via email.  You can also find your current balance in your club runner account by logging in to the 'member area' and then click on 'MyClubRunner' in the top navigation which will open a second row navigation.  From there you can click on 'my account balance' which will provide your open balance.  You can pay via credit card through the site.

September is Literacy Month - Book Challenge
In honor of September being Literacy Month District Governor Greg Horn has challenged clubs to collect 2 books per member.  (See DG Horn's message below.)

For those that would like to participate you may donate your books directly to a school or organization or coordinate with Prez Karyn, she can pick up the books from you and they will go into one of our club's Little Free Libraries.  If you are able to take a picture with you and your books please send it to Prez Karyn, she will create a collage of the photos to celebrate our service in action.
Count Down to History - End Polio Event - Oct 17th

SEE HISTORIC PROGRESS IN ACTION
Rotary District 5020 will mark historic progress toward a polio-free world while urging the community to help end the paralyzing disease. Rotary members in District 5020 are taking action, virtually, on October 17 2020 to raise awareness, funds, and support to end polio, a vaccine-preventable disease that still threatens children in parts of the world today. Visit https://www.justtwodrops.com/ for more information.

While October 24th is known as World Polio Day, a date selected by Rotary International to commemorate the birth of Jonas Salk, who led the first team to develop a vaccine against poliomyelitis, we have an amazing opportunity to celebrate World Polio Day, early, with a collection of speakers who will truly inspire you. Join us! Register now: https://www.justtwodrops.com/.
Tickets are only $30 and All proceeds, minus the credit card processing fee, from this event, will go directly towards PolioPlus and is eligible to receive Paul Harris points/credit. Please make sure to have your Rotary Member number available when you signup!
