12 Passport Rotary Club of Pierce County (PCPC) Members plus four guests completed two service project April 29th at Emergency Food Network (EFN) in Lakewood. EFN Executive Director Helen McGovern-Pilant, lead the way with a tour of the EFN warehouse followed by a repack project. PCPC members repacked 6,600 pounds of beans into smaller bags to be shipped out to over 70 food banks in Pierce County. The bags not only contained a family sized portion of beans, but a recipe to cook the beans in four different languages. Repack items will not only provide nutritional food for families, but a fun and family friendly way to cook them!  Click here to see all the pictures from the Repack
After the repack, PCPC members and guests, placed our clubs first Little Free Library (LFL) as part our literacy initiative project. The take a book - leave a book concept is great for neighborhood communities who will now have access to age appropriate books for free anytime! LFL's inspire a love of reading, build community, and spark creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges.  Click here to see all the pictures from placing the LFL at EFN
